A Letter to Our Baby

Dear Lucas,

I am guessing you enjoyed the chocolate milk I gave you today. This is the first time Mommy has had milk in, well, many, many years and it was definitely worth it to feel your little body squirming around in there! You had a little party and even let Daddy feel you move as well. He really likes that and gets excited. Your grandma Lilli stopped by to pick something up and you were STILL moving around so she got to feel your for the first time today. She cannot wait to meet you.

Your have some wonderful grandparents. Your Grandma Lilli and Papa Steve live just a few houses around the block from us. They moved here to Tennessee to be with us, but I secretly think it was just because they knew you'd be coming along one day and did not want to be in Michigan without you. They are going to love you more than you could ever know and that is really important to us. I had a wonderful relationship with a set of my grandparents and that's important for you.

You also have grandparents in Chicago. That is Daddy's Mom and Step Dad. We are not sure what you will call them yet, but I think they are excited for you to come as well, even though they will not get to see you as often. They love you very much, too. You received a very important gift from them the other day; your infant car seat and matching stroller!

You also have a Grandpa in Texas. That is your Daddy's Dad and while he may not see you much or show it much, I know he cares about you as well. You have a lot of family and friends who can't wait to meet you and know how special you are already!

Stay in there for another 19 weeks or so though, we are excited to meet you and I think about what you will look like often, but we don't want to meet you quite yet! You stay warm and snugly in there and grow big and strong! (Okay, not too, too big though - you have some really adorable tiny outfits to wear)!
