Happy End of the Week!

I always think of things I mean to blog about while I am no where near a computer and then when I sit down to do it, I can't remember. So this will probably be somewhat of a ramble.

I got my first stranger comment last Friday, and since then have had many. It's so crazy and fun to know that I actually look pregnant b/c I find it hard to believe that many people (esp women) would risk that mistake if they weren't pretty sure. So that's fun. I think it's also because, miraculously so far, I am just all belly. Everyone keeps telling me I look like I've lost weight everywhere except my belly, which I'll definitely take! I always thought I'd be the girl who carries pregnancy weight everywhere (and I know at the halfway mark I'm still fully susceptible to that!) because I am so short and have a hard time keeping my weight down b/c of PCOS. Once again, at least so far, I have gotten lucky! I got home from work today and saw one of our neighbors who we don't see very often. She looked at me and said "Oh my gosh I didn't even know you were pregnant!" and was all excited and happy for us and asked me a bunch of questions.

It is amazing how supportive and happy a pregnancy and baby can make people. I've got people coming out of the woodwork wanting to throw us showers, send us gifts, etc. It's really sweet and we're very thankful we have so many people in our lives that are that excited for us, especially when a few knew that we weren't sure I would ever be pregnant. My father in law's good friend, who we have never met, even called me today because she is sending us a box of stuff she just had to buy for Lucas. I thought that was so sweet. We also got our first boy present to celebrate finding out from a good friend of my mom's who is really thoughtful. It's a cute little blue elephant stuff animal and a sweet baby boy picture frame that's going to look perfect in the nursery. She's also already bought us a book and given us a barely used, really nice stroller! I always try to give to other people and do things that I think are special so it's odd to be on the other end of that, but very, very nice.

I shipped out the Pottery Barn navy and white bedding yesterday. I thought I'd be more sad to see it go, even though it sat in the bag the entire time I've had it, but I really wasn't. It was my first "big" baby purchase, but I guess that just means it really wasn't right for us. I hope you enjoy it, Lisa!

I also sent the pink baby bootees I made awhile back to a friend on my baby board who is having a girl. It's funny how once you find out what you're having, all the obvious things for the opposite sex go out the window and have much less meaning. I am glad they are going to someone who will appreciate them and will have a little girl to put them on! I started a, somewhat matching. hat to the new bootees I made the other night. It's the same brown yarn, but I've decided to add some red and cream stripes to it. And now that my boss texted me that we're not working tomorrow (he forgot it was Good Friday, not that I care much, being not Christian!) I may finish it up tonight and pick out some new patterns. I was going to go to my local yarn shop tomorrow maybe, but I just realized they might be closed. I need to look for a pattern and good yarn to make a coming home outfit for baby Lucas. It's going to be HOT in August/September and I am thinking a light cotton onesie type knit, but so far I haven't found anything I am really impressed with.

It's been a nice week. I've been feeling some more flutters, I think, and I definitely had a big growth spurt! I can't wait to compare my 20 week belly picture on Sunday. It's so fun to think about how Lucas is growing in there and I am so thankful everyday for this chance to have a baby.
