Baby Stripes!

I finished the baby hat for Lucas today! It came out better than I expected since I added the stripes on my own without following any sort of pattern. It wasn't hard of course, but I was afraid I'd either have to make them perfectly spaced out or purposely different enough that it wouldn't look like I just messed up counting or something. I think I accomplished that. The only downside is that it came out bigger than I had planned. I made the 0-3 month size and I didn't think the yarn was much bigger than what it called for, but I guess it was. The baby blue hat is really, really tiny (like if Lucas has a big head at birth it won't even fit him tiny!) so you can see the difference.

Anyway, it matches his bootees in that olive green/chocolate brown color which is a cashmere/cotton blend and then the cream and red stripes are baby alpaca. (The blue hat is organic cotton). Now on to my next project! I'm still looking for something to make to bring him home in that's special, but haven't found anything that really seems good yet, especially b/c it will be sooooo hot!

  1. The hats are adorable! I have a random question to ask you--I also live in Nashville & am thinking about ordering a Best Chair glider/recliner. If you don't mind (which I understand if you do), would you e-mail me & let me know where you ordered yours from & approximately how much it cost? I would really appreciate the help! Thanks! 3. You'll be glad you made some items in larger sizes. It'll be nice to have handknits he can wear as he outgrows the smaller ones, especially if your hands are too full with him to knit as much as you used to :)
