Sock Monkeys

This project was entirely for my adorable husband who has a thing for monkeys, in relation to the baby, lately. I'm not a big animal or character person (except for my beloved birdie obsession) so he was mostly SOL with his fondness for monkeys. However, I then discovered SOCK monkeys. Okay, those aren't too bad and are actually sort of cute in a vintage way. I could handle a little of that here and there for baby stuff. I actually put a sock monkey "kit" of sorts on our registry to make Lucas a stuffed one.

I also found this sock monkey flannel fabric and ordered some to make cloth wipes with. Poor husband was so sad that the only monkey thing I was allowing was going to be used to wipe up shit. I can't say I blame the guy. :(

So decided I'd make a blanket out of it. I used leftover brown minky dot fabric (which is why it's a rectangle blanket) and some of the monkey flannel. (I still have some left that will likely turn into wipes or some other smaller project if I can find something cute). So here is Lucas's sock monkey blanket, which I am sure his daddy will love toting around for him :)
