The Great Crib Bedding Ending

I wrote on Facebook that I was going for the new record of how many times one pregnant woman could change her mind about crib bedding. It's so funny because I haven't changed my mind about the overall look of the nursery in months, yet there are so many ways I could have gone with bedding that it was easy to not be set on anything and keep finding things. I think the problem was, though, that everything was finding didn't have EVERYTHING I wanted in one bedding.

The Maddie Boo cream colored plain bedding was beautiful and just what I was looking for, but it was too expensive, even for having someone make it. At $200 for having someone make it, I think I was scared it wouldn't be EXACTLY like the original. (And it was so plain than I couldn't see spending that much on something so simple) Then what? Nor did I feel comfortable spending even $200 on bedding, when I knew all I really NEEDED were sheets and a crib skirt.

The Gap separates were easy, but just kind of boring. The skirt pattern wouldn't even be seen because of our crib style so it would just look like a white skirt with sheets in creams and browns. Eh. After all was said and done, even if purchased off our registry that would have cost nearly $100 for something I was just "in like" with. I did like that it was organic, but it neither satisfied my cream/linen texture type want or my "nature" type want...

Then, I was directed to this website, which by the way I am totally in love w/ this entire site and it's my new favorite place to add things to our registry from. If you haven't been to Fawn & Forest and like eco friendly and/or modern baby and kids things you are seriously missing out!

While browsing some of their bedding, I came across this. Hmmm $355 bedding for $89? Something to check into....

This pretty much satisfied all of my requirements! No, it's not neutral colored (cream), but the rest of the room is so neutral that I have been adding little pops of color (see below) and thought this could actually work perfectly! It goes w/ the other colors I have been adding AND it satisfies the nature look on bedding minus any bunnies or dear than seem to come along with that in most bedding sets.

Still not sure I was a "bedding set" person, I realized for $89 I could use only what I wanted and it would be close to that much to buy or make just sheets and a skirt.... I am sure there will be a time a bumper will be appropriate though and I love the matching pillow for our chair. The quilt looks really light weight and more blanket type so we can totally use that everywhere but the crib for a long time. And one of my favorite parts? The skirt has the pattern all over it, not just at the bottom where it will be hidden on our crib!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it's modern and fun while still having cool nature things (cattails) on it! So perfect.
Here is a really quick mock up I made of our nursery so far so I could put a picture of the bedding in there to show my husband and convince him it was perfect. :) I love the different patterns that all still flow well together b/c of the colors and mod feel.

It gets even better.... I looked into the company that makes this bedding (Nurseryworks) and found they are eco friendly and use renewable materials, dyes without bad things in them, etc! I love to support companies like that and love that I am getting such quality bedding for that price. Definitely check them out (esp and Fawn & Forest with that sale!) if you are looking for something similar!

So it's over. Done. No more worrying about bedding. I have been on Cloud 9 since I placed the order and cannot wait to see it in person and feel it. I am expecting greatness!

  2. So pretty! Too bad the earth tone of the same pattern was out of stock, but I actually think you'll be happy with the pop of colour :)
