The Green Bird

I did it! It finally clicked as to what I wanted to sell on Etsy. So many people on Facebook and even here have commented that I should sell some of my crafty things on Etsy, so I figured, it can't hurt to try! Unfortunately there are many wonderful Etsy sellers out there, so I am not sure my small shop won't get lost in the shuffle, but I wanted to at least try to get it going. I really love sewing and making creative nursery art and stuff so I am going to focus on that. There are only a few listings because basically everything is 100% customizable.

I am excited, but nervous!

  1. How exciting! I will be looking for you! Maybe I could order something for our little guy's nursery! It's a jungle theme!

  3. Um, you did get the Purl Bee's permission to use their pattern for things you're making for sale, right?

  4. Wendy, since doing my own, I have had to alter the pattern a bunch (basically made up a new one). There are thousands of sewn birds out there and mine will be made from my pattern I chose to use instead since theirs was more difficult than I found it needed to be. The only thing the same is that they are still birds (like many of the birds on Etsy), but there are only so many shapes do to a fabric bird out of.

I am very careful of this, this is why I do not sell any of my knitting on Etsy...b/c I directly use someone's patterns.

  5. That's cool, I was just concerned since in an earlier post you had attributed it to the Purl Bee. Guess I've read too many of the dreaded copyright threads on Ravelry...

  6. I wish I could sit down and make myself be crafty like you! Everything is super cute and you should definately try to sell it! My mom told me about Etsy- she loves that site. For the fabric wall art, are you going to do different fabrics?
