29 Weeks!

Today I am 29 weeks. I can hardly believe that next week I will be in the 30's. It's so crazy to me how fast Lucas could actually be here...or if he's late, what a long summer it could be! haha

I'm not taking a picture today. As of right now I am stripped of my jeans I just wore out at the barn and wearing a too small shirt. Not pretty and I don't feel like changing that to take a picture. Actually, I may when I get up in a bit to take a shower and get in my pajamas.

This morning I started researching making my own crib bedding, or more specifically just a crib skirt. I know, I know...how many times can I change my mind about crib bedding? But I started thinking about the crib skirt again and the one the Gap is fine, however all that will be shown is plain white fabric. If I plan to do cream and chocolate brown sheets, that's just not really the look I am going for. So then I started thinking about how SIMPLE that Maddie Boo bedding really is and how I could easily get a natural colored linen fabric and make my own crib skirt. It looks so easy and I'm finding linen from $12-16 a yard, with no more than 2 yards needed. I'm going to give it a try. Here is the linen I am thinking of getting.

I also found this sock monkey flannel. I'm not so much a fan of themes or animals (and definitely animal themes!) in nurseries, but my husband has this new found love of monkeys in all things baby related for some reason. I will admit, sock monkeys ARE sort of cute if we're talking about monkeys. It's flannel so I was going to use it for some cloth wipes, but the husband didn't quite love that idea (what, you don't want poop all over your monkeys?) so I'm trying to come up w/something else to use it for. Possibly something else cloth diaper related or a blanket? Maybe a flannel swaddle blanket? I think that would be fairly easy - just seam a square?

I am tired today. Sleeping is getting to be pretty hard. If I am not getting up to pee, I am awake because my hips are in so much pain (even w/ pillows) or I woke myself up with the event of switching sides. I would love a good nights sleep, especially since I don't plan to get one after Lucas comes. It doesn't seem quite fair that I am being punished now! ha Anyway, after going to the barn today (it's a bit of a trek to go get my horse from her pasture, bring her up to the barn to groom, and take her back) and then out to lunch with my parents I am spent! It's all I can do to clean up around here a bit, do some laundry possibly, and make dinner. (I am excited for dinner though. I've been craving spaghetti and we finally made it up to Whole Foods yesterday for the ingredients. I'm picky and will only make it with their own brand of 100% whole wheat pasta, their organic tomato and basil sauce, and grass fed ground sirloin. Heaven!)

  1. How about trying some burp clothes with the sock monkey fabric. They are really easy and they would look adorable!
