That is how you seriously piss off a pregnant woman who had no desire to leave the house (um, hello 95 degree weather and high humidity in JUNE!) today.
Poor husband, I called him at work half screaming and half in tears.
We were lazy this weekend and didn't do a normal grocery shopping which generally consists of picking a few recipes and things want to make this week and making a trip up to Whole Foods. It's been one of those 'get things as we go' weekends.
Saturday night I made a brown rice/cream of chicken soup/chicken/veggie casserole type deal. Easy and relatively healthy minus the "cream" of chicken soup part. There were lots of leftovers. Leftovers I planned to eat this morning when I woke up. Only the husband took them to work!!! Normally this is no big deal and I like and expect him to bring leftovers for lunch, except I was not expecting him to do that since his work is having a pot luck lunch today!
Apparently he forgot about that even though he was in charge of bringing the dessert. The dessert in which he put together this morning and baked so by the time I woke up, I came out into the kitchen to the wonderful smell of "Cherry Stuff" (cherry pie filling, yellow cake mix, a stick of butter) that was of course not even in my house anymore. Pure torture.
Okay, no Cherry Stuff for me while I wallow in that delicious smell, no leftovers even though he didn't actually need lunch at work today.... pancakes. I can make pancakes as my last resort even though I've had way too many pancakes lately.
So, I am mixing up my flour, sugar, baking powder, etc and go to the fridge to get out my milk, butter, and egg. What the eff...he made the last egg (which I had no idea there was only ONE left) for breakfast!!!! This would be the point where I begin crying and call him at work complaining that he ate or took all the food in our house!
I was so annoyed (and hungry!) by this point that I jumped in the shower and headed to Super Target (2 min away) for a few groceries. Now I am making my very own Cherry Stuff (something I haven't had in probably 5 years at least b/c it's chock full of shit we try not to eat) and excited that I have ingredients to make dinner (Taco Soup) and am full on Annie's organic mac and cheese with a ton of broccoli mixed in.
Note to self and others reading: Do not leave a pregnant woman alone with no food in the house. It's a pretty terrifying combination.

AMEN!!! I nearly chased down the waiter at the restaurant yesterday for him to take our order - when I'm hungry... I need food THAT INSTANT!
