Craftiness

First up, here is my latest knitting project. I had to take pictures because I was so excited about, but it's not really done. I need to knit the little green leaf that goes on top as well, but I don't have any green yarn that is appropriate for it, so I need to go get some, possibly tomorrow.

I'm excited though! My cousin made one this week too (Hi!) and they usually come to visit us in October and will likely this Fall as well so our kids can all wear them together. So cute!


I was leaning over the hat to try to get it from above and my belly got in the way. :) Thought it was cute.

Now....onto SEWING!

Yes, you read that right. I am going to learn to sew! We had money left on that Best Buy gift card that we bought the camcorder with (otherwise, there is no way we'd be buying all this new stuff, but since we couldn't get the cash back...) and my husband found that Best Buy sells Singer sewing machines online! So I ordered a pretty nice one and it should arrive in about 10 days.

I am so excited to sew and make things for Lucas! I am going to start by making cloth wipes since those will be great to learn on and it won't really matter if I don't get them all perfect. I think I am going to do flannel (I found a great site that has all different color flannels!) on one side and terry cloth on the other, but I need to do some more research to be sure that's the best option.

Then I found this a few days ago that I was going to try to make out of wood for a mobile (which I didn't plan to use b/c I don't care for most of them out there), but I think I will combine both of these and make the little birds out of fabric, similar to these little bird ornaments from the Purl Bee. They look fairly easy to make and are too cute! Obviously I will choose different fabrics. :)
