Worst Job Ever

I had another doctor's appointment today and everything went really well. I am amazed at how nice everyone is there. My doctor's nurse was excited to see us and asked me how I was doing and if I had anymore spotting and was so thankful that everything was going well. After my ultrasound with my Dr. the nurse came out to see me again and was all excited everything went well.

We did a quick internal ultrasound in which it took a second to find the baby (holding our breath!) but once he/she was located the heartbeat was soooo easy to see and it was just flickering away nice and fast, as it should be at this stage. Baby measured 8 weeks, 3 days, which is right on track since I am 8 weeks, 2 days today.

I got my official bag of goodies at this appointment since everything is progressing well and they did my full blood panel today too.

While I was waiting to sit down for my blood work my Doctor came back up to me and told me she had something else to ask me if it was OK. She wanted me to give Shiloh, the girl who takes my blood every week, my acupuncturist's phone number. Apparently she's been trying to get pregnant for awhile and was wanting to go a more natural route.

So when I sat down in her chair to be tortured (no, really she is SOOOO good at her job!) I gave her the info we talked about that the whole time. I felt so awful for her. She's been trying to have a baby for 4 1/2 YEARS and this is what she does every day. Is that not an awful job to have when you're going through infertility??? Poor girl! Since we're both members of that awful club we understood each other and she told me the worst was when a woman would sit down in her chair and be crying b/c she is pregnant. UGH. Poor Shiloh. :( The woman who got her blood drawn before me was pregnant with her SEVENTH child. At least I know Shiloh likes me and won't be mean about poking me since I'm not "one of them" that are probably very easy for her to hate!

She was really excited to hear that I got pregnant so fast with Traditional Chinese Medicine and it gave her lots of hope. She was telling all the other nurses who kept coming by "see, it DOES work"! hehe I was happy that at least my awful journey to get here could maybe help someone else (she's had many failed rounds of IUI's, etc) and I was a good example in my ob's office for eastern methods. At my next appointment in two weeks I am going to bring her my favorite book on TCM and infertility, The Infertility Cure.
