Had my first appointment today after not going for a whole month! If I didn't have a home Doppler I would have been scared, but I felt calmer going in today. I still had some visions of the heartbeat we were finding being a cruel joke though so it was a relief when my doctor found the heartbeat within seconds on her Doppler and it was in the 160's. That is pretty much all that happened as far as that went. Pretty simple. I am back to my pre pregnancy weight so the few lbs I lost during the first trimester are back which is good that I am not losing anymore. My husband hugged me this morning as I got off to a very horrible start to the day and told me how skinny (besides the belly) I felt so that was strange!
Then I got my blood drawn b/c I did a Glucola test (to see if I should stop taking the Metformin). Let me tell you, that orange drink is no picnic AT ALL. But I lived and they don't expect it to come back bad.
The best part.... I scheduled my next appointment for 4 weeks from now which will be April 1st. We got our big ultrasound then where we do the anatomy scan to check to make sure everything is normal and we'll find out if our baby peach is a girl or a boy!
Between work (going to work for no reason since my boss got held up) issues and issues with an ex friend today I was feeling pretty stressed and annoyed beyond belief, but honestly... I am so happy with my life right now and we are so lucky to have this healthy baby still coming that nothing can touch me I feel like. Being pregnant and looking forward to adding to our family makes all of the petty, useless crap seem so minuscule and silly and reminds me to be the bigger person. I love that. I hope that everyone can find this peace in life at some point. It's truly amazing.
