This appointment did not go so well. It could have been much worse though.
We got there a little early and ended up having to wait an extra 20 minutes to see the midwife (one I later learned doesn't go "on call" so there is not chance she will deliver Lucas, so I think it's pointless that I am being rotated to midwives without a purpose). Anyway, my nurse asked me how I have been feeling so I told her about my recent headaches and vision issues (I called the on call midwife Sunday about this, but it was decided that b/c my previous blood pressure was fine, it was likely nothing).
My blood pressure today was 144/104 though which is pretty high and definitely very high for me. Up until the last couple weeks my blood pressure has always been on the very low end of normal. They checked for protein in my urine and I was pretty sure with the way I'd been feeling this week we were going to be sent to the hospital for an induction if they found any. If you don't know, we are planning a totally natural, intervention free birth. I was pretty freaked out because this of course throws all of that right out the window.
Thankfully, there was no protein in my urine which is great! They asked me about possible migraines and took blood to test. So that's about it.
Otherwise everything is great. Lucas measured 38 weeks (I'm 37w5d today) and his heart beat is in the 150's. I ended up getting to see Linda, my regular midwife anyway since they wanted her to look at me so that was nice. I really want Linda to be on call when I have the baby!

Hope you continue to stay well. Are your midwives having you rest on your left side to see if that brings down your blood pressure? That often works.
